Year 2021, the year of final decision. How do you decide?

Mehn, I usually only get to update on this blog once in a while. What a shame on my end. I believe I need to do more but then there are other priorities for now. 

Anyway as for business endeavors, no massive traction per say in the area of business income. I can say I am looking after the family in general and that takes my time. 

After going around the bush (starting and stopping ideas for online business) since 2003, looking for what I enjoy doing...hmmm... I have come to the conclusion that writing and reading are the only two hobbies that I have been able to sustain in all these years without much effort. Reading being number 1 and writing flows well I get the chance to write like today. I can even type without looking at the English keyboard, even after  almost 5 years of rustiness. Hahahahahahahaha..... I actually find that very amazing...

So  yeah, I call myself a writer now. That will not change for a very long time like 100 years! So yes,  I am a writer wherever I go, anything else can be added to it but I can a writer at the core. Finish.

That is my main update for today. 

"Income streams" update:

Prolific.ac :  I haven't been on there for a long while. Hope to get there soon again when I have more structure to my day, despite corona up and down with lockdown , partial lockdown etc. 

YouGov: Surveys are a bit long, same problem , no time despite been qualified for a lot of surveys. Shame o...once again. 

Platforms I am looking at for now:

Medium - There is a kinda secret sauce to Medium, which is big publication accepted submissions. The algorithm is all this and that. In my case, what has fascinated me the most is that I can submit my write-ups that were previously published quite easily, so yeah, I am good with that, I just need somewhere else to share my work for exposure. 

Quora - I particularly like the question asking feature. I have just discovered the use of A2A being instrumental for traffic to answers, which will in turn generate some traction, in terms of ad impressions which might lead to some cents overnight barring your questions not being merged with another... So many stressesssss just to make money ooo... It just goes to show that nothing good comes free. 'Gotta work for it. 

Pinterest: This one is just fallen by the wayside for me. The process of creating pins and then pinning it, is a long process for me purely because time is scarce and I don't have a consistent structure that I follow at the moment. This is so lengthy for me. 

Wordpress website: This one had just died. I tell you. I think only 2 of the articles are ranking on google on page 10 or something. Hope not lost. Like usually, the process is so long for now. I don't have access to my laptop all the time and also trying to reduce screen time and so the excuses continue. 

Youtube: They are actually promoting their community sections on channels. A bit interesting. Is it SEO focused? Or just randomly selected? Or just what? Hmm.. will see how it goes on. Having a YouTube channel is a different ballgame entirely that I don't even want to go into. I have a channel prepared or shall I say spruced up that just need content. Lol. So my main problem, is CONTENT CREATION.

Way forward:

1. Get people for each step of the production process. I need to pay people but I haven't got the funds to sustain that. So, here is another chicken - egg situation. I could try the option of guest posting, but no traffic to attract quality write ups to make it worthwhile for those who are actually willing to write. I guess I have to really sit down and strategize for what I want to actually do. 

2. Wake up at 4am everyday and do some writing for one hour. The trick is to have done all my read ups in the day in bits and bits, and when it is time to write, for max, 1hr. then I can just write from memory. OR I can write before I sleep....hahahaha.. that may not even be possible.

3. Formatted template structure for articles that I can just edit and put content in.
