Yes, there are 3 types
What is self-development?
This is when a person takes steps and actions within their current capability to become self-aware and acquire skills, talents, and abilities to have a better quality of life.
It means you are willing to take actions to have a better quality of life based on what you need to be able to do so.
The 3 types of self-development
The first type is physical self-development.
This has to do with making changes to your physical being. For example, your health, your diet, keeping fit, making sure you are feeling good and healthy, etc
The second type is mental self-development.
This has to do with how you take care of your mental health, how you develop intelligence, how you maintain it by acquiring knowledge that is relevant to your current situation, and, of course, how to go about utilising it.
It also has to do with acquiring skills for daily living or for future use, so you can have a better quality of life.
The third type is emotional self-development.
This has to do with how we manage our emotions by keeping them in check and using them appropriately in all our various relationships.
Having the right balance is key in this area of emotional self-development.
The question now is:
What can I do to start self-development?
- Start prioritising your self. You need to count yourself as someone who also needs care. Just as you have it somewhere in your mind that your child needs to be taken care of, you need to see yourself as such. You are dependent of yourself. Let’s just put it that way. Lol.
- Try new things that count towards your desired goal.
